Materials

Use these guides to prepare your material requirements. Review the 304 and 316 references, then include the material grade, property class, finish and application details in your enquiry.

Start with your application

Tell us about the environment, temperature, cleaning chemicals, mating materials and required service life. A material name alone does not establish suitability for an application.

304 stainless steel

Use the 304 guide to prepare a clear material request. Confirm the governing material specification and the required fastener property class separately. Exact product availability must be checked against Tongming supplier data.

316 stainless steel

Use the 316 guide when your drawing or purchasing specification calls for this grade. Explain the exposure conditions so that the specification can be reviewed. A grade description is not a corrosion-performance guarantee.

Grade and strength are different fields

State the material grade, property class and surface finish as separate requirements. Do not approve a substitution based only on a shorthand label or a similar-looking product.

Prepare a material-specific RFQ

Provide the product or standard reference, diameter, length, pitch, material, property class, finish and quantity. Attach the controlling drawing or bill of materials. We will confirm the proposed specification before quotation.
